NO CURRY, NO LIFE We have eaten over 500 curries. The owner was strongly influenced by "Tokyo Curry Banchou" and creates original spice curry! Using the spice techniques he learned from making curry, |
Arrived around 7pm on a weekday, there were five customers already in the restaurant. This is one of Iidabashi's top 100 Ethnic Cuisine restaurants, and although the owner is the only one running the place, he looks a little scary, but his customer service is polite and it reminds me of Yoshida Curry, my spiritual home. I ordered two kinds of curry (coarsely ground keema and today's special coconut butter chicken), regular rice (200 grams) and gizzard achar for 1,650 yen, a reasonable price. It arrived in about six minutes, with turmeric rice, two kinds of curry, and apparently bean curry is also included by default, and three types of vegetable achar on top. First, the gizzard achar came with about four huge slices of gizzard, and was accompanied by crackers. It was crunchy, spicy and oily, it was irresistible. And as for the curry, it was neither too spicy nor too sweet, but was a well-balanced and delicious curry suitable for Japanese people. First, the keema was not coarsely ground, but was filled with chunks the size of meat chunks, and although it was not spicy, you could feel the spice in it, giving it an exquisite taste. This keema went really well with the vegetable achar, the rich spices of the keema enveloping the sourness, and the coconut butter chicken, which is sweet at first, but then comes a spiciness that is even spicier than the keema, I wonder how that works. The big juicy chicken was super tender and tender, the coconut enveloping the chicken's flavor, spicy curry goes well with chicken. The curry was good, but it was great to have a wide variety of achars, it might be smart to order two types to pair with your curry.
