日本人は、トンカツもカレーライスも好物。
嫌いな方にお会いしたことがない。
この両方が出会うのは、自然の成り行きだったのだろう。
このカツカレーを堪能できるのがいっぺこっぺさんである。
東京に10店舗ほどあるらしい。
評判のカツカレーをいただくべく、飯田橋店を訪れた。
昼食時、早めの11時30分頃、出かけた。
店外で食券を購入し、10分程並んで入店。
肩ロースカツカレー300g。
トンカツと言えば、ロースカツである。
肉料理では脂身の旨味が素晴らしいのである。
一方、ヒレカツも捨てがたい。脂身ではなく肉本来の旨味を堪能できる。
この両方をバランスよく堪能できるのが肩ロースだ。
さて、トンカツとカレーライスが別皿で供された。
気張って300gをチョイスしたので、どう盛り付けるのか、と思っていたが、なるほどである。
それどころか、肩ロースカツそのものを楽しみ、そしてカツカレーも楽しむことができる。
まず、肩ロースカツをいただく。
生？
いやいや、ぎりぎりの絶妙の揚げ具合。
肉の旨味、適度な脂、抜群に旨い!!
ヒマラヤ岩塩がおすすめ、とのこと。
間違いない。
いわゆるトンカツソースでは、この肩ロースがもったいない。
続いて、カツカレーライスとしていただいた。
カレーライスはオーソドックスで普通に美味しい。
こちらのカレーはトンカツによく合うカレーだと思った。
カツカレーなんて、特別なトンカツでなくても、特別なカレーでなくても美味しいに決まっている、などと、ちょっと軽く考えていた。
しかし、いただいてみて、大絶賛に変わった。
次は、この店で一番値段の安いロースカツカレーを試してみよう。
それは、きっと満足のカツカレーなのだろう、と思いながら、店を後にした。
