神田駅から徒歩数分にある、仙台で創業し2010年にこちらへ移転してきた国内でも数少ないくじら料理を堪能できるお店。
賑やかな駅前と違い静かなエリアにあるビルの地下にお店があります。
平日の11:30に到着、店内の入りは3割程度。
店内は、カウンターとテーブル席があり、席間は広くゆったりしてました。
最近食べていない「鯨竜田揚げ」も惹かれたのですが、今日一番魅力的だった『鯨カツ』を注文。
メニュー写真の一枚ものとは少し異なりますが、一口サイズのカツが5枚入ったお皿がやって来ました。
色は濃い赤で、臭みは全くなく食べやすいですが、肉汁溢れるジューシーな感じもなく、魚なのかお肉なのかわからない。
脂がたっぷり乗ってるって感じもないので、ヘルシーな鳥ササミを食べてる気分。
柔らかい牛のヒレカツに近く繊維質も感じる様な食感で、普段食べ慣れていない不思議な感じ。
「竜田揚げ」、「ベーコン」を出してくれる店は時々ある。
ごく稀に、「刺身」を出してくれるお店もあったけど、やはり『鯨カツ』をら食べたのは初めてかもしれない。
美味しかったんだけど不思議な経験でした。
夜メニューも面白そうなものが沢山載ってて、「しゃぶしゃぶ」なんて興味津々です。
