Part 278 of the company food series. Today, while I was at work, I wandered around the area and decided to go to Mala Sichuan, a Chinese Cuisine restaurant next door to the soba restaurant I had been to before. The store is located near Kanda, a little south of Ogawamachi Station, and although the exterior was red and flashy, the inside was not as flashy as I expected. There were only table seats inside the store, and there was a All-you-can-eat buffet corner outside the front. When I visited, it was after 1:00 pm, and there were quite a few customers, and the staff could only check the hall, and there were two men and one woman, and they were not at all friendly. Today I ordered the Sichuan style drool chicken set meal. The food arrived after about 5 minutes of waiting. I couldn't decide between the daily Sichuan-style stir-fried chicken or the mapo tofu, but I chose the drool chicken, which was a combination of both. Before the drool chicken arrived, I went to pick up rice, soup, salad, boiled Gyoza / Dumpling, and 2x almond tofu (I took it twice by mistake...), and they were all good, but the salad was shredded cabbage. There was a cabbage spread under the drooling chicken, so I felt like I didn't need it (lol). The boiled Gyoza / Dumpling could have been eaten with soy sauce on the table, but this time I had it with drool chicken sauce, and it had a chewy skin and a firm filling that went well with the rice. The main course, Drool Chicken, was voluminous and spicy, making me feel sweaty on the way home.There were also quite a few nuts included, which added to the crunchy texture. There were so many side dishes that I had to get one refill, but I was pretty full and it was good value for money. Next time I come, I would like to try the fried rice that I forgot to get.
