1982年創業。カレーの聖地神保町でその創成期から人気を博している名店。
お店は神保町駅から徒歩1分の大通り沿いにある。日曜の14時に訪れたところ10人ほどの列ができていた。階段に並び、さらに店内の椅子で少々待ち計20分ほどで席に着くことができた。
「ビーフカレー中辛(1750円)」にプラス500円で更にビーフを追加。また、ジャガイモが2個まで同料金で付いてくるため、2個頼んだ。注文から5分ほどでカレーが到着。追加したビーフは別盛りで運ばれてくる。
カレーはタマネギの甘味と絶妙にブレンドされた香辛料が加わり素晴らしい味わいだ。創業時より継ぎ足し作ることでコクやとろみ、深みが生まれているのだという。
14時半頃になると行列がなくなっていた。お店は11時から通し営業のため、訪れる際には時間を見計らって行くと良い。
