神保町の九段下寄りにあるお茶の水大勝軒。つけ麺よりもカレーが有名で全国に分布する数多くの大勝軒の中でも個性が際立っております。何故か屋号に読点が入り、ブランチングの文字が足されております。
軒先の券売機で『もりカレー／1,100円』をポチり。結構するね〜。開きっ放しの入口を入ると奥の奥にはテーブル席が並んでいるようでしたが、ソロ入店でしたので、手前の長いカウンター席に腰掛けます。
優しい大将にチケットを渡して紙エプロンを貰います。厨房には若手の店員さんたちが多数いらっしゃり何だか賑やか。常連さんらしき方々と気さくにお話をされておりました。
やがて登場したカレーのつけ汁とストレート麺。カレーの色はだいぶ濃いめで、麺の量は大勝軒にしては控えめかな。汁をレンゲでひとすくい。辛さは控えめで酸味がひとしおに効いたカレー味。そう、これは正しく大勝軒らしい味わいですわね。
具材は刻みネギにぶっといメンマ、赤身のチャーシューに半玉。更に汁の中には、キューブ型のじゃがいもや豚肉もふんだんに入っており、カレーらしさを演出しています。
麺はツルシコで色は真っ白。見かけも食感もうどんのようにも感じる一品は、サラサラしたカレー汁によく合いますな。完食まであっという間でした。
カレー系のメニューは他にも、カツやシュウマイが乗ったカレーライスやドライキーマといったシブいメニューまでラインナップ。どれも一度は食べてみたいな。
