Lunch near my office series no. 264. I wandered around for lunch by myself today, and there were a few restaurants I thought about going to, but the next one was closed, so I decided to go to Fukuzono, which seemed like a place I could get into. The restaurant is located along Chiyoda-dori between Ogawamachi and Jimbocho, and is a bit flashy inside and out. There is a TV inside, the restaurant only has table seating, and the kitchen seems to be on the second floor. I visited after 1pm, and there were a fair number of customers, mostly single customers. There was one woman who seemed to be Chinese in the dining area, and her customer service attitude was not that good, but it's a typical Chinese Cuisine, so it was tolerable. Today I ordered fried pork and wood ear mushroom with egg. I waited about 10 minutes and the food arrived. There was a wide variety of menu items, but there were quite a few dandan noodle-style fried rice sets, so I was having a hard time deciding, but I selected the daily special of fried pork and wood ear mushroom with egg. The daily special consisted of pickled mustard greens, soup, and almond tofu, and it was a bit disappointing that the soup was too thick... (lol) The main dish, fried pork and wood ear mushrooms with eggs, looked a bit strong, and I thought it went well with rice, but I thought the bamboo shoots in the filling were a bit hard. Also, the amount of rice was just right. I'm not sure what to do next time, but if I do, I think I'll go for the dandan noodle set.
