(Weekdays) Visited at 11:34. No inside store (6 groups when leaving) - Sichuan mapo tofu set meal (with salad and soup, self-refilling of rice) 800 yen <Foreword> A few days after a trip to Toyama where I enjoyed delicious Seafood, I suddenly decided to eat mapo. I wanted to eat tofu, so I visited this restaurant, 'Sichuan Taishu Haowar'. This restaurant's lunch menu includes mapo tofu and Tantanmen at reasonable prices, and it's a high-cost restaurant with all-you-can-eat rice. The shop is located about a 10-minute walk from Ochanomizu Station, despite the rain having stopped and the heat being unbelievable for November. Although the store had just opened, there were no customers. I entered the Izakaya (Japanese-style bar) style interior with round tables and chairs, and when I sat down at a suitable spot, I was offered a mug of water. I'm happy because it's hot. I was also attracted to Soupless Tantanmen, but I ordered the mapo tofu. I'll wait for a while. <Actual meal> It was served in about 5 minutes. Oh! There's quite a bit of Hana Sansho on it - it's so much that you can see it. It's quite a large portion. It also comes with egg soup and salad. First, I eat the salad, scoop up some mapo tofu, and take a bite... It's quite numbing ~ It also contains grains of Japanese pepper, giving a gorgeous aroma and a tingling numbness to your tongue. That's the extent of the spiciness. Also, it was more like minced meat than tofu, and maybe it was because my tongue was numb, but the seasoning was light. However, the rice tastes good so I keep eating it. After all, mapo tofu comes with rice, right? The rice ran out quickly, so I ordered another. Refills are self-service. The strength of self-service is that you can order only the amount you want, lol.For a different flavor, sprinkle some chili oil on the table. The more I eat, the more spicy I want it. Perhaps because your tongue has gotten used to it, you can now taste the flavor of the minced meat, and your hands move faster as you move through the rice. <Conclusion> I thought about asking for another helping of food, but I restrained myself and finished the egg soup. The mapo tofu had the perfect pepper flavor and sharpness. If you don't like numbness, you might want to be careful. The fact that you can get as many refills of rice as you like is also appealing, and judging by the customer base, it seems like people who work in the area appreciate it. If you want a filling meal at a reasonable price, this is the place for you.
