東大の正門の目の前にある『吉田とん汁店』を訪ねております。
その名が示す通りの豚汁専門店で、メニューも完全に豚汁定食一本。我々の選択肢はといえば、セットとなるごはんの大小のみでございます。豚汁とご飯、それに小鉢が２品に漬け物がついて680円とは有り難い。具沢山で栄養も十分で、さらにこの値段ですから、東大生のファンなんかもきっと多いでしょう。
主役らしく、お盆の上では豚汁が１番の面積を誇ります。ご紹介の通りの具沢山で、しかも１つ１つがゴロゴロと大きい。意外にも豚肉の存在感は少なく、ジャガイモや大根などのボリュームが大きいのが特徴。出汁は適度な塩気と魚粉感が特徴だが、どうやら豚肉由来の動物系の強さも汁の中にとけこんでいるようです。そんな出汁の影響を具材達も大きく受けており、ご飯の相手としても機能している印象です。
それでも豚汁とご飯はちょっと、、、なんて人向けに小鉢があるのでしょう。ミニ焼売とソーセージがご飯のおかずとしても活躍してくれます。有料ながら生卵の用意などもあるので、結果ご飯のお供に困ることはないでしょう。ご馳走様でした。
