2022年8月某日の11時過ぎに訪ねた。
上野広小路駅から徒歩2分ほどの場所にあるビル2階の居酒屋「絵馬亭」。
程好い広さの店内には先客なし。
靴を脱いで店内の板張りの座敷席に上がる。1人客用の席に着いて、日替わりメニューの「エビフライと刺身定食」¥850を注文する。
7,8分ほど待って料理が提供される。
エビフライ、刺身、ご飯、味噌汁、漬物、果物の組み合わせ。
刺身はかなり物足りなさはあるが、程好い熟成加減で良い味ではある。マグロはかなり小さいものが一切れ。どうにも寂しい印象ではある。
エビフライとキャベツには中濃ソースをかけて食べる。良いサイズ感のエビフライは衣がやや厚いが、どこか懐かしい味わい。出来ればタルタルソースが添えられていると嬉しい。
細切りキャベツの浅漬けもつまみながら、ご飯と味噌汁を味わう。ご飯の盛りは控えめ。客層に合わせているのかもしれない。
定食のバランスは良い感じだが、ボリューム的には物足りない。丁寧に調理されているが、主菜に食べ応えが欲しいと思ってしまう「絵馬亭」の日替わり定食であった。
渋い店内で海鮮料理をつまみに飲むのは良さそう。タイミングが合えば夜の利用をしてみたい居酒屋。
