駅弁屋 上野56号売店は、上野駅中央口からさらに新幹線改札を通過した先の右手にあります。新幹線ホームからはまだかなり距離のある位置にあります。新幹線にこれから乗る人のみならず、新幹線から降りて家路に急ぐ人の利用も多いようです。
狭いスペースにたくさんの種類のお弁当が並んでいて、どれにするか迷いがちですが、次のお客さんが待っているので、あまり迷っているわけにはいきません。
数種類あるサンドイッチの中から選んだデニッシュサンドは、神戸屋の作品でした。
地養卵使用のたまごサラダ、チキンとポテトサラダ、レタスとトマト等の野菜、ハムが、さっくりとした食感のデニッシュにはさまれて、美味しいです。
こだわりのとんかつ弁当は、熟成チルドポークと粗挽き生パン粉を使ったとんかつだそうです。レモン汁と辛子とソースのパックがついていました。ソースのパックのビニールがなかなか切れなくて苦労しましたが、何とか手で開けることに成功。冷えていてもとんかつは柔らかくおいしいと感じました。
