It's getting cold, so I wanted to eat something warm, so this time I went to Manpukuya in Ueno with a friend. It's located on the third floor of a building in the downtown area, a one-minute walk from the Shinobazu exit of Ueno Station. There is a sign on the street, so it's not hard to find. The inside of the restaurant isn't very large, but it is quite clean and has a relaxing and calm atmosphere. This time, I was guided to a box seat, but there was also a counter. We toasted with a soda mix of Takatakatan plum wine. We ordered the all-you-can-eat special Japanese black beef, and we could choose from two types of broth. The reliable kelp broth and Sukiyaki. There was ponzu and sesame sauce on the table. At first, we were given a set of meat and vegetables, including Japanese black beef, without even ordering it. This alone was quite a large portion. After that, we ordered whatever we wanted, and we enjoyed wrapping vegetables around the meat and arranging it in a fun way, and we were able to eat our fill. There are also a fair number of side dishes, so it's also good as a snack. Overall, it was better than I expected! It was good value for money and we enjoyed it slowly. Most of the staff were foreigners, but I didn't have a bad impression of them and was able to eat without stress. The quality is not much different from the usual shabu shabu-shabu chain restaurants, so I think it's a hidden gem that you can use when the surrounding area is crowded!
