By chance, I was invited to join the store after work. Eating out at night in Ueno is extremely rare. It seemed that reservations had been made in advance, so we went along without knowing anything. It is located in a building facing Chuo-dori, which is slightly closer to Akihabara than the entrance to Ueno Park. After trying a variety of dishes, I quickly realized that this restaurant had not changed the taste in any way to appeal to Japanese customers. The main dish was the ``sour cabbage fish hotpot,'' which is a hot pot of mustard greens and a large freshwater fish.It is not a spicy hotpot dish, but literally has a sour taste. Some people dislike freshwater fish, or river fish, because they have a smell, but Chinese people probably won't like them either if they have a smell. I tried to eat it so that it didn't look like that, and it turned out to be a really good idea. I ate this dish many times when I was stationed in China. I don't know how it changes depending on the region, but its home is in Sichuan Province. However, this dish is not spicy at all. Spices such as pepper, the humble chili pepper, and garlic tickled my nostrils, giving me a truly nostalgic feeling. The fish is a herbaceous fish, similar to a carp. Since it was large, I had to lean into the bowl and enjoy it many times. So delicious! All of the store's staff were Chinese, and most of the customers seemed to be Chinese as well, and they spoke Mandarin. Occasionally, it's good to eat dishes that are the same as those eaten locally. I had never imagined that I could find such things as the complex spices of the lamb Grilled skewer, or the jiggly, gelatinous texture of the chicken legs, which I don't like to eat, so it was a pleasant little surprise.
