I was looking for a place to have a light meal and drink before an appointment, and I found one near the station, so I dropped in. The restaurant is near Tawaramachi Station, on the first basement floor. As expected, it was around 7pm on a Monday, so there was only one customer other than me, and it was quiet. First of all, the appetizer stew came out with the draft beer. Stew? It was a bit of an unexpected appetizer, but it was rich and full of ingredients. It's nice now that it's getting a bit cold. On the other hand, I was curious about the appetizers for other seasons. Now, since it's Yakitori (grilled chicken skewers), the recommended menu items are my favorite liver steak and heart steak. This time, after much deliberation, I went for liver steak. What is it, the warmth when you put it in your mouth. The liver steak here is warm and melts in your mouth. And I like chicken nanban and tartar sauce, but the tartar sauce that came out was pale pink! Contrary to my expectations, it was mentaiko-based? Or not, but it wasn't... I wonder. Here too, the crunchy texture accents and the softness of the meat match well. We were almost out of beer, so we looked at the menu and saw "Sake Kasu Shochu" (Tenzan) which caught our eye, so we mixed it with water. As I usually prefer sweet potatoes, I felt an incredible sense of freshness the moment it went down my throat. To go with this, we had Yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) skin and thigh. The thigh in particular seems to be a rare cut closer to the base, and is more elastic than usual, with the flavor slowly coming out. Moreover, it is placed on a thermal plate to keep it warm. This time, we had to move on to our next stop after just over an hour, but it's a place we'd like to spend more time eating and drinking at our leisure.
