2021年2月某日の11時過ぎに訪ねた。
西日暮里駅から徒歩2分ほどの場所にある中華料理店「宴客 西日暮里店」。
それほど広くない店内には先客なし。
テーブル席に1人で座り店内の黒板を見て「週替り定食（エビのチリソース）」¥800を注文。
7,8分ほど待って提供される。
レタスの上に乗ったエビのチリソース、ライス、スープ、キムチ、杏仁豆腐の組み合わせ。
大ぶりの海老を使ったメイン料理を食べてみる。それほど辛さは無く、甘みと酸味が強い味付け。悪くは無いが、海老の感じが好みではない。臭みは感じないが、食感が好きではない。ただ、800円のエビチリとしてはボリュームがあって満足度はそれなり。
優しい味わいの玉子とワカメ入りのスープをライスとエビチリの間に挟みつつ、キムチをつまむ。ザーサイではなく、キムチというのが良い。
エビチリのソースとレタスを一緒に食べてもおかずになる。仄かにニンニクの風味がするソースはクセになる味。
最後に杏仁豆腐を食べて定食を完食する。
程好い値段でそこそこの中華定食が食べられる「宴客」。使い勝手は良い店である。
