いい音の聴けるバーでありながら本格的な南インド料理が食べられる地元でも大人気の素晴らしいお店。オーナーは秋元幸治シェフです。日本人オーナーらしい繊細なテースト。内装もインドらしい派手派手さはなくセンスのいいカフェ的な感じ。2019年にオープン。もともと開成高校OBで会社員をされていた秋元幸治シェフ。高校時代からバンドが趣味で根っからの音楽好きでコアなオーディオ&レコードファン。
金田式DCアンプのファンで自作アンプ、ダイヤトーンP610(三菱電機の誇る1958年発売の名機)にフォステクスのツイーターを加えた自作スピーカーとJBL 4311(アメリカの超有名ブランドJBLの1976年発売の名機)と言う年季の入ったマニアックな構成。開業の時に自宅から持ってきたそうです。
また店内にはレコードが2000枚ありこちらも年季の入った自宅からの持ち込み品です。
そんなありのままの音楽が好きと言う秋元幸治シェフは凝り性な性格なのはわかる気がするのですが、カレーは50代になってから、きっかけはナイルレストランで食べたカレーだそうです。
最初は渡辺玲さんの「ごちそうはバナナの葉の上に」で座学しスパイスカレーの第一人者である渡辺玲氏、モハメド・フセイン氏からスパイスを学んだそう。最初は自分で食べたり、仲間うちだけで楽しんでいたのですが評判になり60歳の定年で開業することになったそう。素敵すぎるセカンドキャリアですね。
この日のランチはほぼ満員でシェフ含めて4名でオペレーションしています。大繁盛！土曜日スペシャルランチは「夏の終わりのミールス」とかっこいい名前のついたランチミールス(1650円)。さつまいも、かぼちゃ、茄子と言った秋の味覚が楽しめます。あとデザートはヨーグルトにキトュル・トリクルという、スリランカで取れるヤシの花蜜 をかけたもの(275円)をいただきました。どれも秀逸で美味しく物語を感じるものです。
店内は明るくおしゃれ。家族連れや中年の仲間連れ、常連さん、女性2人組など幅広い層のお客さんであふれています。
みなさん美味しいところアンテナがすごいですね。
