[5 minutes walk from Keisei Koiwa Station] Enjoy the authentic taste of Tsukishima, Monjayaki! Can be reserved for up to 30 people◎
At Monja Kanshichi, named after the owner, a former construction worker, you can enjoy the traditional downtown flavors that the owner, a native of Tsukishima, has been familiar with for many years. A |
A Monja-yaki restaurant in a detached house quietly standing in a residential area. I called before 6pm on Saturday and arrived, and I was the first one there ^ ^ It seems to be run by the female owner and her brother (her daughter's husband?). The brother was very nice and said, "I'm from Kujukuri, and I have some delicious clams that I caught there this morning. Would you like some?" Of course I said, "Please!" They were fresh and big, and the brother steamed them in sake in front of me, which was very delicious ^ ^ The menu is also rich and fun ^ ^ The portions are generally quite large! For the main Monja-yaki, I ordered the classic Mochi Mentaiko Cheese Monja. It's rare to get a whole serving of mentaiko, so I was surprised at how filling it was! I thought the flavor was a little bland, but I was so engrossed in the mentaiko that I forgot to add the monja sauce lol (be careful, this is the type where you add the monja sauce yourself!) There's a lot of soup, so I tried my best not to add it all, and after I'd finished eating, I made some rice crackers to enjoy it twice. (The landlady recommended that I make some rice crackers.)
