Since I was in Monzen-Nakacho anyway, I decided to stop by another Standing bar, Shimousaya, so I searched Tabelog, but hmm? Standing bar? It looked like it from the outside. When I went in, the counter was Standing bar and there were table seats by the wall. You take your own bottled sake from the cooling case, and you ask the chef for snacks and sours. I got in quite early, so there were no other customers, and I chatted with the chef! There were a lot of daily calendars, so I asked him about them. He said he received them from construction workers around Monzen-Nakacho, and he turns the pages every day! (lol) He said he's been doing okay with woodworking lately, but the tradition of ladder climbing is getting stricter, and the chef's storytelling made me order another Maker's Mark highball! It was fun hearing stories about the downtown area! I'd like to come again ~ Thank you for the meal!!!
