お店の印象を決定づける要素というのはいろいろあると思います。
料理そのものはもちろん、接客であったり、店内の装飾だったり．．．。
今回訪問した店はそんな第一印象という点において、そんなことを考えさせられた店の一つとなりました。
メニューはパスタ、ピザ、ハンバーグにデザートというある意味万人向けのレストランです。
店内に入り、メニューを見た時にそれを感じてしまったのです。
メニューの写真が手作り感を表現しているのでしょうが華がないというか色がない、そんな印象を受けました。
メニューをいただくわけではないのですから、関係ないと思いたかったのですが。
お腹は空いているのに食指が伸びないというのはどうしたことでしょう。
悩んだ末に、飛騨牛とナスのポモドーロを注文することとしました。
そんな料理を見て再び感じたのです。
華がない、と。
わかりやすく言うと、料理全体の印象が褪せた色合いとなっているのです。
素材をそのまま生かそうとしているのかもしれませんが、
見た目においしさが表現されていない、そんなことを強く感じました。
それはナスの焼き具合であったり、
せっかく飛騨牛を看板にしているのだから、肉々らしさを表現することだったり、
ソースの旨みをソースで表現することだったり、と。
食事にいって、器に盛られた料理を見ただけで来て良かったと思う瞬間があります。
そんなことを繰り返している内に、
少し生意気になっているのかと思うこともあります。
今回の出会いがそんな感じでしょうか。
隣のテーブルでおいしそうな音を立てているハンバーグ。
自分の選択間違いもあったかと、少しだけ反省しました。
