品川駅の港南口を出てまっすぐ5分ほど行くと「東京中央卸市場・食肉市場」があり、その中に入ったとこにある食堂。
平日のお昼前に行ってみる。店内はだだっ広く古き時代からの食堂の雰囲気。昼前にも関わらずかなり混み合っている。
メニューは食堂らしく生姜焼きや唐揚げといった定番の定食やカツ丼などの丼ものまで壁に数えきれないほど貼ってある。
連れてきてくれた同行人にここの一番人気だからと、煮込み定食を薦められたので、今回はそれにする。
・煮込み定食880円
(牛皿・もつ煮込みの味噌汁・ご飯・海苔・壺漬け)
市場だけあってすぐに提供あり。見た感じ牛皿は皿ではなく小鉢に角切りでよく煮込まれたお肉が入る。味付けはそんな濃くないから、ご飯はあまら進まず。
もつ煮込みの味噌汁は実はモツ苦手だけど大丈夫だろうとタカを括っていたら、結構モツ独特の臭みがあって厳しかった。
結局、壺漬けと海苔で多めのご飯を掻き込む。えーっと何の定食だったっけと思うほど、ほかの普通の定食にすれば良かったと後悔。
