目黒駅を降りて白銀台方面に歩き首都高をくぐった通り沿いにあるダイナーが「One The Diner」。レンガ調の壁と、ネオン色の店名が特徴。夜なら遠くからでも目立つ。この日はランチタイムに。
入ってすぐわかるのがロック好きってこととラグビー好きってこと。ポスターやユニフォームなど、たくさん掲げられているが、店の雰囲気にマッチしている。左手にL字型のカウンター、手前にテーブル席、そして奥にはソファー席も。カウンター席と迷ったがテーブル席に。
ランチタイムはランチバーガーとランチプレートが2大メニュー。プレートは牛ステーキやチキンステーキ、タコライスなどなど。ランチバーガーはベースの「ONE'S CLASSIC HAMBURGER（ワンズクラシックバーガー）」にトッピングを加えて楽しむ感じ。結局チェダーチーズトッピングの、いわゆるチーズバーガーを。ベースが950円でトッピングが100円なので、トータルで1050円。
最初にセットドリンクのジンジャーエールが出てくる。ジュージューと焼き上がる音に耳を傾けているとやってきたチーズバーガー。たっぷりのポテトが付いている。
チーズバーガーは大きなレタスに分厚いトマト、パティにチーズというシンプルな構成。食べてみるとわかるのが、結構パティのボリュームが大きいということ。存在感が結構でかい。比較的柔らかく仕上がっているが、アメリカンなハンバーガーに非常に近いのではないだろうか。
東京のハンバーガー専門店が出すハンバーガーとは少し流れが違うけど、アメリカのダイナーで食べるハンバーガーはやっぱりこれ。ガツンというボリュームがあるけど味はシンプルで美味しい。目黒のこの辺に住んでたら、色々試したいお店です。
