Remarks |
I read in a review that smoking was allowed (April 2005), but when I went there last summer, the owner didn't like cigarettes and the entire store was smoke-free. I know this for sure because the smoker who went with me went outside to smoke. |
PR for restaurants |
Spanish cuisine with simple and gentle seasoning that matches the taste of the ingredients, just like grandmas in the Spanish countryside make.
Each region has its own delicious food. Enjoy simple dishes like those made by rural grandmas and cheap, delicious Spanish wine. There are many ways to enjoy a bar, whether that be to fill your stomac |
I went to Bar Enrique, a hidden Spanish Cuisine located in a narrow alley near Nakameguro Station. I made a reservation in advance. It was probably full and they were turning away walk-in customers. I ordered a la carte. I ordered Sangria, Bread, Jamon Serrano, Chopped Octopus, Garcia Style, Smoked Sardines in Oil, Scrambled Eggs with Salt Cod and Potatoes, Segovia Style Garlic Sauteed Mushrooms, Japanese Pepper Sausage, Basque Clam Rice. For the drink, I chose Sangria. It was a classic pot cup filled with plenty of Sangria. It was a cold drink made with wine and fruit. It had a little fruit in it and a nice refreshing sweetness. Jamon Serrano is a Spanish Prosciutto. It was thinly cut, but had a strong flavor and a delicious salty taste. Chopped Octopus, Garcia Style, was a dish made by boiling and chopping octopus into chunks and sprinkling it with paprika powder, salt and olive oil. In the Galicia region of Spain, it is called "festival octopus". The octopus has a firm texture and the olive oil is delicious. The olives are also good. I ordered bread as recommended by the owner. It is a chewy baguette with a crunchy outside, which is great to eat with oil. The smoked sardines in oil are a dish where the soft sardines are bitter and delicious, and the richness of the olive oil makes them perfect for bread. The salted cod and potato scrambled eggs are delicious with the soft taste and texture of the salted cod, the fluffy texture of the potatoes, the sweetness of the eggs, and plenty of olive oil. There is a lot of olive oil, so it is also like Ajillo. The Segovia-style garlic sauteed mushrooms are mushrooms and garlic sauteed in plenty of olive oil. The Segovia-style version seems to include Prosciutto, but there wasn't any, but the umami of the mushrooms came out well and it was delicious. The Sansho sausage is a thick sausage cut into chunks with plenty of olive oil. The spiciness of the Sansho pepper adds a nice touch to the juicy sausage. Basque Clam Rice The menu says that this dish takes about 25 minutes after ordering. I ordered it in advance halfway through. What came out was a dish that was somewhere between a risotto and ojiya. It was like a runny paella. The broth was full of the umami flavor of the clams and had the crunchiness and thickness of the rice. The clams tasted sweet and it was very delicious.
