本日は業務上の用事のため中目黒に。用務先に行く前に時間があるので昼食を取る。色々良さげな店を探すが、月曜日は休みの店が多く、中々良い店が見つからない。目黒川渡ってしばらく歩いたその先にタイ料理屋の看板が。看板のすぐ脇にある細い階段を登ったその奥に、ひっそり営業中のタイ料理屋発見。
中は結構広く、開店後すぐだというのにもう半分くらい客席が埋まっている。元気なおばちゃんに案内されて席に着く。パッタイやらガパオやら色々メニューに目移りしながら、自分はカオソイ（タイ北部チェンマイで食べられるカレーヌードル）1300円也を注文。
セットで付いてくるポピアソット（生春巻き）をパクつきながら麺を待つ。生春巻きはタイ素麺とキャベツやら人参やら刻み野菜が入っており、チリソースと砕いたピーナッツで味付けされていて、ぷにぷにした食感が心地よい。
10分くらいでカオソーイが運ばれる。まずスープを一口啜ると、ココナッツミルクたっぷり、ナンブリックパオ（タイのピリ辛エビみそ）たっぷりで、エビの風味がしっかり付いたクリーミーなカレースープが素晴らしい出来。中に入った卵麺とも、トッピングのパリパリ揚げ麺ともよく絡んで、一緒に啜れば大変美味。鶏肉もホロホロになるまで煮込まれていて、スープにたっぷり入っているのが嬉しい。
まずい店だと、ただのイエローカレーに麺と干からびた鶏肉若干が入っているだけ、なんて代物が出てくるが、こちらのお店は必要な材料を必要な分入れてくれてるようで、味が本当にまとも。久々に当たりのカオソイ見つけることができ、大変満足なランチでした。
