This was my first visit to Kushikatsu Tanaka. I love kushikatsu and was attracted by the happy hour (16:00-18:00) so I went in. Highballs and lemon sours are 99 yen, and although there is a lot of ice, it's cheap and I'm happy. I was surprised when I looked at the menu! It's a parade of my favorite things. I regret why I hadn't been there before. The kushikatsu is the standard beef and pickled ginger. You can share lotus root, quail, tomato cheese, pork, etc. as you like. It was crispy and hot and delicious. The nikusui is delicious with plenty of beef belly, but it didn't contain any egg. (At home, I make it with "Higashimaru" udon soup, crack an egg into it and let it run soft.) It was my first time to try the kasu udon, but it was average with less oily kasu. I think the stir-fried horumon would be better if it was a little stronger. The thing I enjoyed the most was the self-made Takoyaki. The ingredients were small octopus and pickled ginger, but the dough had oily kasu in it, which made it rich and delicious. I asked for mayonnaise as well. It's a restaurant I'd like to visit again.
