Thai Cuisine, made with authentic seasonings, and our specially made spice curry are extremely popular!
[We are proud of our Thai Cuisine and curry made with authentic seasonings!] A short walk from Yutenji Station, this cafe bar is like a hideaway, located in a corner away from the hustle and bustle of |
It's a bit of a walk from Yutenji Station. It seems like it's hard to get there unless you aim for it. Actually, I was turned down by the restaurant I wanted because it was fully booked, so I had to make an emergency escape to this nearby restaurant. "Kaleidoscope" means kaleidoscope. It's a house a little way back, so you probably wouldn't notice it if there weren't banners advertising gapao rice and khao man gai. The restaurant has a homey cafe-like atmosphere. I heard that the basement is a live music venue, but I had no idea where to go. There was one other customer ahead of me, and I was greeted by a male staff member. Apparently the menu is shown on a photo on the wall. There was an explanation that "Today we have...", and there was no chicken or gapao, but it seemed like you could eat several kinds of curry. [b: Miracle Oyama Double Curry 950 yen] I ordered a double curry, a combination of the specialty Oyama curry and Thai green curry. Salad and soup came out immediately. The salad was made with carrots pickled in soy sauce instead of dressing. Well, it was average. The soup was a consommé with lots of onions and was quite delicious. A glass of drink was served. There were tumblers of orange juice, iced coffee, and oolong tea on the table by the wall, and it was nice that you could drink as much as you wanted. I had orange juice before the meal and iced coffee after the meal. The curry arrived in a few minutes. The one on the right was Oyama curry, sandwiched between turmeric rice in the middle. The curry named after the owner, Mr. Oyama, had a great aroma. With one bite, you can feel the crunchy spices, the sourness of tomatoes, and the richness of meat, making it a very delicious curry. Ah, this is my favorite type. The various spices are well used, and the aroma and taste are fresh. The green curry, on the other hand, was also spicy and delicious with a hint of coconut. It was rich in flavor with bamboo shoots and minced chicken, but it was overshadowed by the deliciousness of the Oyama curry. Mr. Oyama is a musician, but he seems to love spices and created this curry by purchasing whole spices from India. Both went well with the fluffy turmeric rice. I leisurely drank iced coffee after the meal. I went into this restaurant without any prior knowledge, but I was lucky to be able to eat delicious curry. I also want to try the gapao. The only drawback is that it is a little far from the station.
