東急東横線学芸大学駅周辺は、駅前商店街で代々暖簾を引き継ぐ老舗と、メインストリートから外れた路地裏や住宅街で営業する新興勢力が競い合う蕎麦激戦区だが、ここは駅から祐天寺方向にガード沿いを徒歩5分、創業19年の中堅どころで、しっかり地元に根付いている。

天ぷらは海老か穴子を選べるとのことで、梅雨時が旬の穴子をチョイス。穴子の他にズッキーニと玉ねぎが盛り込まれどちらも新鮮で、穴子のふわふわ食感と衣のカラっとした揚げ具合のコントラストに、玉ねぎの甘さも良かった。
蕎麦は一番粉を使った手打の白蕎麦で、香りは薄めだが、なめらかな口当りと喉越しが心地よい。めんつゆは、かつおだしの効いた甘口で、非常に食べやすい。締めの蕎麦湯はドロッドロの濃厚なやつで、最後の一滴まで蕎麦の香りを飲み干した。
