学芸大学でタイ料理のお店へ。「プアン」はスパイスキッチン(株)の経営で、三軒茶屋本店と渋谷、そしてここ学芸大の3店舖展開。オープンは2018年2月。本厚木にも「”本場”タイ料理バル プアン」という酷似したお店がありますが、これは無関係な焼肉屋さんの関連店舗だそうです。
学芸大の駅から東口商店街を150mほど進んだところの整骨院のビルの2階にあります。平日のお昼時ですが店内は混みあっており、なんとかテーブル席に案内されました。
ランチメニューはポピュラーなタイ料理が並んでいて、909円～1080円とまあまあ、と思ったらこれは税抜き価格。小さい字で税込価格が書いてありました。なんかランチは税込価格一本にして欲しいなあ。
アボカドと海老のグリーンカレー 1188円

お客さんは女性が多いですねえ。おひとり様もいるけど、2～3人とか4人でやって来て、大声で話しながら楽しそうにお食事をしています。結構うるさい。厨房からはタイ語が聞こえ、鍋を振るシャカシャカという音も賑やかな店内。
グリーンカレーGen kyou wan kun avocadoがやって来ました。サラサラのカレーの中に、アボカドと小海老が3尾。カレーはココナッツミルクが甘く、スパイスやハーブが効いていて本格的。好きなタイプのグリーンカレーです。
説明によると、スパイスやハーブをすり潰したペーストを炒め、ココナッツミルクやナンプラー、砂糖、具を加えて煮込んだそうです。アボカドはもともと味がないので、食感を楽しむものですが、海老は割とうまい。
ライスは長粒種のタイ米で、これはカレーによく合います。スープは野菜の入ったチキンスープで、これが何とも優しい味で美味い。サラダはキャベツの千切りが干からびていて、作り置きし過ぎな感じでした。
グリーンカレーは食べているうちにだんだん口がヒーヒーになってきました。唐辛子マーク2本なんだけど、やはりタイの唐辛子は効きますね。うまい。
なかなか美味しかった。やはり厨房もタイ人の方のようで、とても好きな味でした。グリーンカレーにアボカドと海老は初めてでなかなか良かったけど、やはり鶏肉と茄子の方が好きかなあ。まあ手軽に味わえる本格タイ料理としては優秀ですね。
