Gyukaku... I've heard of this famous Yakiniku (Grilled meat) chain for a long time, and I've passed by Gyukaku restaurant many times, but I've never had a chance to go in. Today, while I was looking for a lunch spot near my workplace, I had a change of heart and wanted to go in, so I took my courage and went in. After taking my temperature and disinfecting, I sat down at the counter. A plastic cup of ice water and a towel were brought out. The menu was simple, but I ordered a set of kalbi and skirt steak. Then, a bite-sized choregi salad and seaweed soup were brought out first. Next, a stove with a roaring charcoal fire was placed in the hole in front of me. I was thinking that it was a bit of a waste to have the fire burning so much at 1:30 pm lunchtime when there were few customers, when a plate with kalbi and skirt steak and half a bowl of rice was brought out. As expected, meat seasoned with sauce is delicious when grilled over charcoal! This makes you want to eat rice. But when I looked at the table, it seemed like only the bare necessities were lined up. I thought it would have been nice if there was at least a little kimchi or kakuteki on the small plate, but I finished it in no time. The pros and cons of "Yakiniku (Grilled meat) solo" are often discussed in society, but I'm of the opinion that it's okay for lunch. I think it's more delicious at night with a beer in hand and a large group of people. I rediscovered that I'm not the "eater" type, but the "make others eat (grill meat and distribute it)" type ♪
