三軒茶屋に馬肉料理専門店を発見。階段を上がって2階に店舗がありますが、階段を上がる前にメニューが置いてあり、入店前にも安心。
チェーン店のような雰囲気ですが、馬肉専門のチェーン店なんか聞いたことないし、帰りにいただいたポイントカードはこちらの店舗名しか入ってなかったので、チェーン店ではない？・・・と思って検索してみると、ここも含めて4店舗あるようですね。
にしても、馬肉なのに値段が大衆的な居酒屋と変わらない。ドリンクなんかはサワーだと350円だし、馬肉に関しても一品もの、メンチカツとかだと280円だったし。
お通しはなし。食べ飲みした分だけ料金がかかります。ちなみにメニューに載ってる値段は税別。
そんなわけで、レモンサワー350円、馬刺し盛り1人前650円、馬モツ煮込み380円、そしてここの名物とやらの十円ウマから10円をオーダー。
まずは早々にレモンサワーが運ばれてきます。自分で割って飲むタイプのものでしたが、割りものは栓抜きで自分で開けるという感じなのに卓上に栓抜きが用意されていなかった。
十円ウマからも時間かからず提供。要は一口サイズの馬肉の唐揚げを半分に切って2個分にしているという感じのもの。十円なので仕方ないですが、サイズが小さいな〜って。しかし、その柔らかさや衣がさっくりしているところ、そして良い感じの赤みが残っているのが気に入りました。油は少し気になるし、最終的には噛み切り辛いけど、満足。ちなみにこれは、お一人様一皿限りのサービス品。
続いては馬刺し。それぞれの部位が1枚ずつ運ばれてきます。4枚で650円ということですが、馬肉だからこの値段も仕方ない。けど、美味しかった。ロースは噛むと甘みが生まれ、旨みもジワジワ広がっていく。やっぱり、あっさりしてるよね、馬肉。ヘルシーな味。ヒレ、ねっとりとして、とろけるような食感。甘みもあるし、噛むと旨みも出てくる。ふたごえ、脂が全ての旨みですね。これこそ本当にとろけるような食感。はらみが個人的には1番好きだったかな。食感も柔らかさも旨みも全てがちょうど良かった。
そして、オーダーしたのを忘れられ、15分ほど待たされた馬モツ煮込み。馬肉なのかな。普通のモツに比べると、確かにあっさりした肉だったけど。しっかり煮込んであるので、肉にも大根にもゴボウにも味はしっかり染み込んでいる。味はやや濃いかな。とりあえずモツの量は少ないかな。
けど、お通しがない、ドリンクは適正価格などなど、手軽に馬肉を楽しむことができるという点で、大いに価値のあるお店なんじゃないですかね。その珍しさからも、飲みの場としての選択肢に入れても問題ないと感じたしね。
