Kitchen & Bar Rejouir @ Musashikoyama [Notes] ◆Visit information Visited around 14:00 on 2011/04/03 One customer ahead of me / Two customers behind me An Italian Cuisine & Dining Bar in Musashikoyama. "Rejouir" is written as "Rejouir" and pronounced as "Rejuir". It's a short walk from Musashikoyama Station. The easiest way to get there is not to go to Palm Shopping Street, but to the Musashikoyama Ginza Street Shopping Street side, which is just a right turn after entering Palm Shopping Street. Go through the arcade, pass "Pan Komine Ginza Street Store" and turn left at the next intersection. After walking a little, you will find the shop on your right. It is located at a slightly lower level, like half a floor. You will know it because there is a signboard and menu in front of the shop. ◆Advance information The shop opened in March 2010. It will be Dining Bar with strong Italian Cuisine elements. There is a French flag in front of the shop, but judging from the menu, it is based on Italian Cuisine cuisine, so it may not be a problem. I learned about this restaurant after reading a review by a favorite reviewer on Tabelog. I never go to this side of the restaurant, so I had no idea about it until then. It's been about half a year since I bookmarked it. It felt like Dining Bar, so I thought I'd go for lunch as a non-drinker, and finally made my first visit. It's located about half a floor down a flight of stairs. It's a little off the shopping street, near a residential area, so it may be a little hard to find. It looks like they're doing a mini vegetable garden in the space leading up to the entrance. The restaurant is spacious and relaxing. The low-resilience chairs are comfortable. ◆Menu The lunch menu has four options: "Daily Pasta Lunch," "Spicy Curry Lunch," "Lasagna Lunch," and "Pizza Lunch (Daily)." From what I can see, it's almost like cafe food. All items come with salad. A large serving is +100 yen. The pasta lunch on this day was two types: "Clams & Rapeseed Tomato Sauce" and "Mushroom & Bacon Peperoncino." I ordered a large serving of "Mushroom & Bacon Peperoncino." I also ordered a separate drink. Drinks are plentiful, as you'd expect from Dining Bar. There are also a variety of alcoholic drinks available. For some designated drinks, there seems to be a special price when ordering from the lunch menu. ◆Food ▼Salad (set) Salad that comes with the set. It's simple, but has plenty of ingredients. The dressing seems to be homemade, and they gave us two types. We had it with something like French cuisine dressing. This dressing is quite good. It has just the right amount of acidity and makes it refreshing. This homemade dressing is also sold for takeaway. ▼Large serving of mushroom and bacon peperoncino (daily pasta lunch/840 yen + 100 yen) The pasta is a little thin, like spaghetti federini. It's a little looser than al dente. It feels a little loose, but not so loose that it leaves you dissatisfied. I think the sauce is aglio olio peperoncino. It fits well if you think of it as a peperoncino that is an extension of cafe food rather than Italian Cuisine. It's not oily and the garlic scent is weak. The sauce is at the bottom like a stock, so it feels a bit soupy. They may have used something like consommé to balance the flavor. It seems to have a lot of red pepper extract, so it's spicier than I expected. The ingredients are shimeji mushrooms, king oyster mushrooms, and bacon. These are standard ingredients, so they go well with this kind of sauce. If you eat it thinking it's Italian Cuisine, you may feel a little strange. However, if you eat it thinking it's cafe food, it's not bad. It's a pasta that is an extension of cafe food. When you think about it that way, the category of Dining Bar seems to fit well. The same goes for the lasagna that my companion ate. If you eat it casually like a cafe, I think you'll be quite satisfied. ◆Service The restaurant is surprisingly spacious and relaxed. The tables are wide and the spacing between the tables is relatively wide. This is a restaurant that values white and wood. The chairs are wide and spacious, made of low-resilience material, which is particularly comfortable to sit in. The interior is comfortable like a cafe. I quite like the casual and relaxed atmosphere. There was an ashtray, so smoking is allowed, but there didn't seem to be anyone smoking that day, so the smell didn't bother me at all. The service is fairly polite. On this day, female staff were serving customers, while male staff were in charge of cooking. There seems to be a point card available at lunchtime, so if you frequent the restaurant often, it might be a good idea to have one made for you. Overall My first impression was that it was a casual, relaxed place to enjoy cafe food. Since it was lunchtime, dinner might be a different story. You can enjoy a casual cafe meal, Dining Bar-style meal, while also relaxing and enjoying a drink. I think that is the concept of the restaurant. If you visit expecting an Italian Cuisine restaurant, you may feel disappointed, but if you understand the concept of the restaurant, it makes sense. The prices are reasonable, so the value for money is quite good. It's not bad as a casual place to eat. I hope they continue to do their best.
