今回は、新店開拓。前々から気になっていたタイ料理をいただけるこちらにお邪魔することに。
開店時間は11:30で、その時間に合わせて入店したが、既に先客3組で全て提供済み。1組はすでに食べ終わっており、くちゃくちゃとうわさ話がノンストップ状態でうるさいです。
さて、今回は初めてだし、8つあるランチメニュー＠955円(税抜き)から選ぶことにします。メニューを見ていると日替り屋台飯はこれですとサンプルを見せてくれるのでとても分かりやすいです。聞きもしないのに親切な対応かと。折角のタイ料理だし辛い物をいただきましょう。トムヤムラーメンで麺の種類はやっぱりライスヌードルを選択ですよね。なお、ランチメニューにはドリンクが付いているのでマンゴージュース、グァバジュース、アイスコーヒー、アイスジャスミンと4種類ある中からマンゴージュースを選択。通常はこれにスープかライスも付くようだが、ライスヌードルを選択していることだし、ラースは遠慮しておく。
待つこと五分。メインのトムヤムラーメン、サラダ、マンゴージュースが到着。サラダはほぼキャベツの千切りにサウザンドレッシングがかかっている。マンゴージュースにはたっぷりと氷が入っている。まずサラダを完食してから、トムヤムラーメンをいただく。まずはスープを一口。味濃いめでスパイシーで、ふくろ茸の風味が感じられます。レモングラスの香りはあまりしません。パクチーの香りはほんのりとしています。次にスープに隠れた麺に箸を向けてみます。真っ赤なスープなので麺が見えませんが、かなりの量あります。麺同士の絡まりがきついのでスープの中で箸を使ってある程度ほぐしてからいただきます。ライスヌードルなのでコシはありませんが、その分喉越しは良いです。ただし調子に乗って啜っているとガンガンスープの飛び跳ねがあるので注意が必要です。自分はもらった使い捨てエプロンをつけていますが、テーブルの上にはぽつぽつと赤い点が増えて行っています・・・具は海老、ふくろ茸、もやし、鶏ミンチ、パクチーと言った構成。もやしはそこそこありますが、その他はわき役に徹したようなボリューム感。やはりメインのライスヌードルが前面に出ています。
タイに行ったことがないので本場の味は知りませんが、個人的にはもしこれが日本人向けにアレンジされているならばもう少し味を薄くしていただき自分でテーブルの完備されている調味料で味のアレンジができればいいのになぁと思いました。
海外旅行に行くことのできない現在、海外の料理をいただくことができるのはうれしいですね。
