荏原中延「日の出食堂」で日替りのサービス定食（600円）。
この日は鰯の煮付け、茄子炒め、しじみの味噌汁、そしてどんぶりごはん。
朝6時からひとりで切り盛りされている高齢のオヤジさんとポツポツ会話しながら平らげる。
実はこの店から徒歩3分位の米屋の2階に30年ほど前に住んでいたことがある。日の出食堂は昭和46年の創業というから、その頃からあったワケだけど、当時はまったく知らなかった。
帰りがけに確認したら住んでいた米屋は改装されて小洒落た居酒屋になっていた。
ときどきこうして昔なじみの街を訪れて、記憶を上書きして帰ってきます。
