京王井の頭線の東松原駅や小田急梅ヶ丘駅から歩いて10分弱の住宅街にあるカレー屋さん「Mother's(マザーズ)」。平日の13時ごろに初訪問。
普通の住宅にお店がくっついている感じで、カレーのノボリが無かったらお店とは気付かない。表にcurry&nail salonと書いてある。
営業日は金曜から月曜(月曜から金曜と見間違えて平日のみと思っていたら、土日はやっていて火水木がお休み)。11:30〜16:00までが営業時間。
お店の中は小ぢんまりとしており、テーブル席が２つと奥にソファー席がある。なんとなく家のリビングのような雰囲気。
フードメニューはパキスタンカレー(チキンカレー)1,000円、辛口キーマカレー、ガパオライスが各800円の3種類で単品のほか、合かけ2種(1,200円)、3種(1,500円)がある。
今回は「合かけ2種 1,200円」をパキスタンカレーとガパオライスにする。ほかにも単品料理でジャークチキンやアチャールチキンが、ドリンクはコーヒーなどセットだと300円、ワインなどお酒もある。
冷えたグラスに入ったサラダが先に、ちっちゃいグラスながら、ポテトサラダがたっぷり入っている。待つこと10分せずカレーの方も提供あり。真ん中で正方形に形どったライスと温玉がいて、両脇をカレーとガパオが囲んでいる。さっそく食べてみる。
パキスタンカレーはなかなかスパイシーでグルテン、オイル、水を使っていないと説明が書いてあったけれど、辛さもなかなかで水分もほどよくあり、チキンもよーく煮込まれていて美味しい。
ガパオライスもドライカレーのようにひき肉が入りピリ辛で、本格的で東南アジアに行ったような気分になれる。温玉はそのまま食べても、マイルドにするために食べてもいい。
大盛りにもできたようだが、普通でもボリューム感あって、じんわり汗も出たけど美味しい一皿だった。お支払いにはPayPayが使える。キーマの辛さが不明だが、パキスタンカレーはクセになりそうなので、また来てみよう。
