菜種梅雨というらしい。
桜の時期にしてはやや冷たい雨が濡らす上原銀座の急坂は、昔からの個人商店やこじんまりとした洒落たカフェなどが並んで、なんとなく山手の庶民的風景そのものに映る。とはいえ、不動産屋の店頭に掲げられた物件価格はまったくもって庶民的ではないのだが。
土曜日の昼、一つ目の野暮用を済ませた後に前から気になっていたこちらに。古き良き街寿司然としている。
先客はカウンターにお一人様と、テーブル席にお二人。ランチメニューとして各種丼ものが掲げられているものの、テーブル席の方では麦酒に握りを楽しんでいるので、それでも良いようだ。
午後にまた野暮用のある私は酒と握りに惹かれつつも、手早く済む「ちらし寿司」に。あおさの椀が付いて950円也。
酢飯が大分淡いが、普通に美味しい。この後もちょくちょくお客さんが入ってきており、地元での人気が伺える。確かに、落ち着く雰囲気だ。この辺りに暮らす比較的教養水準が高い30代の、まだ子のない夫婦なんかが休日にこちらでランチを、などとシーンを想像するとよく調和しそうだ。
