JR東中野駅東口改札を出て、右側の南側階段を降りて6〜7分まっすぐ歩いたところに「かんじ」はあります。途中この先には何もないかなぁ〜という不安をとおり過ぎると右側に赤ちょうちんが見えてきます。
東中野エリアは、新宿・大久保と中野というビッグ繁華街に挟まれたエリアですが、落ち着いた雰囲気で大好きな一角です。
ココは予約必須な店。しかも予約して刺盛りを注文しておくと、とても居酒屋と思えない築地（い今は豊洲）の寿司屋さんではないかという刺し身の盛合せが登場します。油の乗った本マグロの中トロ、コリコリした天然の白身魚、ピョンピョンの跳ねる車海老などなど、豪華絢爛でありながら、居酒屋価格です。
この他にもかに味噌和え、他旬の酒のアテが揃っていますので、いつもは日本酒を刺身やアテとともにがぶがぶスイスイ飲んでしまいます。
新宿近辺で集まろうというと、だいたい「かんじ」にしてしまう秀逸の居酒屋さんです。
