初めて伺ったのは昨年の五月。
生湯葉やきんぴらやいろんなものをカゴに入れてレジに向かう。
そのちょっと手前にちまきがあった。
それも六つほどカゴに入れていると、近くにいた年配の女性がじっと見つめている。
私たちがカゴに入れた後はちまきは二つだけになった。
私たちがその場を離れたとき、その女性は急いで残りの二つのちまきをカゴに入れていた。
レジに並んでいたときに、中央の陳列ケースの向こう側から妻がこれもと、私に手渡す。
結構いっぱい買い込むことに。
家に帰ってから生湯葉をつまみにビールを飲む。
美味しい。しかも安い。
きんぴらはごぼうよりも揚げが多い（もしかしたらきんぴらではなかったかもしれない：ペコリ）
いろいろいただき、最後にちまきを。
笹の葉に包まれたちまきはモチッとしていておいしい。
私は飲んだあとの〆はラーメンよりも炊き込みご飯やちまきのほうが好きである。
昨年暮れに妻が一人でブロードウェーに行ったときに、この店でまたいろいろと買い込んできた。
胡麻寄せ豆腐や絹ごし、卯の花、ひじきと大豆を煮たもの、玉蒟蒻と黒豆、
タケノコの煮たものともつ煮、もちろん妻の好物の生湯葉も。
あれっ、ちまきがない！
「ちまきは買ってこなかったの」と聞くと、「ちまきはなかったよ」と。
やはり端午の節句のときにしかないようである。
いろいろとつまみながらビールを飲む。
しかし、〆がない。
自分で雑炊（というか、玉子を入れた汁気の少ないおじやである）を作ることに。
いつもちまきを置いてくれるといいのになあ・・・
