所用で中野へ、ついでに以前から気になっていた「タイ食堂 The Spicy Cafe」でランチをと思ったら、
「店主コロナワクチンの副反応のため、本日お休みします」と張り紙が・・・
ということで、急きょこちらにしました。
狭い入口から急な階段を上り入店。11時半過ぎ、先客は一組。
こちらは、日式カレーと印ネパカレーの両方がある異色のお店だ。
カレー二種とチキンティッカのニコニコスペシャルセット990円をオーダー。
(以前のメニューと比べると、セット物は値下げしているようだ。)
カレーはマトンとダル、辛さは中辛、ドリンクはアイスチャイ。
熱々のカレー、油断してダルカレーの底から掬うと、火傷しそうだ。
焼きたてのチキンティッカの脇に、人参とピーマンの和え物？
(アチャールではないと思われる。)が付き、
さらに、こんなレモンまで付くなんて初めてで、ちょっと豪華な気分。
マトンはクセというかパンチが今一つで、食べやすいと言える。
ダルは数種の豆がたっぷり入っていて、スープ寄りのダルカレーではなく、
ドロリと重量感のあるカレーだ。
辛さは辛口寄りの中辛といったところです。
特に美味しいとか、スパイシーとかないのですが、他のカレーも試してみたい。
