The second branch of the famous restaurant "New Koenji India" where you can enjoy authentic Indian Cuisine at reasonable prices has opened in Nakano! In addition to great lunchtime deals, we also welc |
The place used to be a curry restaurant called "Image", but now it's a different curry restaurant. I learned from kennny's review that you can get a 50 yen discount on lunch by bringing the flyer placed in front of the store, so I put it into practice right away. In other words, contrary to my completely useless review, kennny's review was at least worth 50 yen. I ordered the A lunch (750 yen including tax) which comes with one type of curry, naan, rice, salad, and a drink. The curry is keema curry, the third spiciest out of four, and I plan to get a second serving of naan, so I decline the rice. Even though it was daytime, I was already drunk, so I decided to drink iced coffee. The drink system for this set is a little interesting. It's quite common to be able to change to a glass of beer for an additional 250 yen, and I personally appreciate it, so I'm happy. However, I was surprised that an additional 100 yen was charged even if I chose coke or ginger ale. What is this carbonation supremacy? Lassi and orange juice can be selected at the same set price. The same goes for coffee and chai, but you can have refills whether they are hot or iced. In other words, there is a four-level hierarchical structure for drinks. Is this what they call a caste system? No. I've already used 500 characters before talking about the main subject of curry. The keema curry contains minced chicken and onions. It has a rich sweetness and richness derived from butter, like the roux of butter chicken, and spices are built on top of it. Although the salad was just lettuce with sesame dressing, the curry was a pretty solid North Indian Curry. Of course, I have to preface it with "for the price". The male chef seems to be the same as in the previous "image", but I can't remember the faces of men, so I'm not confident at all. The only thing I can say for sure about in this review is the description of the drinks.
