年に数回無性に食べたくなる焼肉。今回は寺門ジモンさんのYou Tube（新井屋にかい）を観てちょいと気になっていた新井屋さんの本店が、現在の住まいに引っ越す前に暮らしていた馴染の町高円寺にあると知って、事前予約の上二人して訪問。
高円寺駅南口PAL商店街を少々下って右折。ややほの暗い小路の先左側に見えてくる赤提灯が目印。がたごとっと少々重めの引戸を引くと網戸があったりする少々凝った民家的意匠の入口。店内は機能的で清潔。大きな換気扇が各テーブルにセッティングされた焼肉中級店の標準的内装。
比較的若く眉目秀麗なご婦人がホール担当。事前予約していたからだろうか、一番奥の４人掛けテーブルに案内される。
とりあえずの生ビールをふたつ。本日お店お勧めのこぶくろタレ、本日の赤身肉、厚切りタン塩、一本ハラミ塩、サンチュ、キムチ、ナムルをサクッと注文。レバーは本当は厚切りでエッジの立ったやつが良かったのだけれど本日は厚切りでのラインナップが無ということで並レバーを塩で所望。
ややあって供されたお肉達。厚切りタンは焼き方説明書が一緒に。これが結構役に立つ。そうかぁ、焼いてから少し寝かすのが肝なのね。説明書き通りに上手に焼けたからだろうか、とても美味しい。生ビールを干したらマッコリ薬缶を追加。レバーは想定内の味わい。こぶくろはミノのようなごりごりの歯応えは無いけれど、しゃきしゃきとした食感が楽しくかなり美味しい。一本ハラミはまぁ想定内といった感じ。
飲物を数杯とカルビ二人前、ロース一人前を追加。カルビ・ロースは並だったのだけれどサシが丁度よくイイ感じ。他の中級店であれば上で出していてもおかしくなく、コストパフォーマンス的にとても優秀。〆の冷麺、デザートにマンゴーシャーベットを頂いて大団円。
以上お勘定22,000円と小銭少々（税込み）は相応。
味わい、お値段、雰囲気、応接…どれもがかなり高いレヴェルでまとまっているなぁといった感慨。ボリューム的にはややダイナミズムに欠けるけれど、もろもろバランスよろしき再訪ありの良店。
