Recently, I can only eat out around Kichijoji. Today, I'm in the Nishi-Ogikubo area, but along Itsukaichi-kaido, and it's a bit of a walk from the station. It seems that there used to be a restaurant called "Nabakarika Asian Dining" here, and when I visited after looking at the guidebook published in 2016, the name of the restaurant had changed. Well, this is also an Asian dining restaurant, so I was interested and went in. Inside the restaurant, a man who seemed to be a local was holding a beer and some edamame beans. Inside, there were two tables for four people, and we were seated at the back. There was another table in the back, but the lights were turned down, and unfortunately, it seemed inevitable that the number of customers would decrease. For lunch, we had the Ladies Set (900 yen including tax), the Asian Set (1,050 yen), and the Elianna Set (1,200 yen). All of them come with two types of curry, salad and a soft drink, and you can have more naan and rice. Compared to the Ladies Set, the Asian Set comes with chicken dikka and a drink for an additional 150 yen, and the Elianna Set comes with a seekh kebab for an additional 150 yen. It's strange that men are serving ladies, and the Asian set with dessert and chicken dikka seemed like a good deal for the extra 150 yen, so I ordered that. There are 11 types of curry to choose from, and I forgot to ask what the daily special was, but I chose my usual saag chicken and mutton, and mango lassi for a drink. The curry was the second spiciest. The drink and salad arrived first, and the salad was cabbage-based with sesame dressing. The food that arrived was a really big naan, two types of curry, and a small portion of rice. The naan was smeared with what seemed to be ghee and shimmered, and in the center was a dark vermilion chicken tikka. As usual, I tore off the naan, and it was so hot that I wanted to throw it away right away. When I dipped it into the deep green saag curry and ate it, the spiciness that I didn't feel at first gradually came over me. The aroma of spinach and vegetables was subdued. The mutton was filled with large pieces of meat, so I avoided them and first ate the liquid and naan, and after a while the slight spiciness also came. The spiciness on the tongue is not that bad, but my forehead is sweating. The weather is nice today, but the air conditioning is not working very well to improve ventilation. I don't feel the heat, but the curry is making me sweat so much. I think that if I improve my metabolism and eat what I like, I can refresh both my body and mind. Here, I take the chicken tikka apart with a fork and take a bite. It has a smoky smell and the taste of chicken, and the texture is a little dry and delicious. You can get a refill of naan here, so I order one, and eat rice while I wait. The naan arrives, the same size as before, and it's impressive. By the time I finish eating the naan, the two types of curry are finished, and I finish by eating the last piece of meat. The plate is cleared and Ice cream arrives as dessert. It looks more like a sorbet than ice cream, and tastes like a mix of vanilla and chocolate. It might be coconut sorbet. I finish with a thick and sweet mango lassi. Unfortunately, there was only one other person in the store, but the two male staff members were always smiling and it was very pleasant. It's a little far from the station, but they offer takeaway so I'd love for people in the neighborhood to stop by. It would be nice if there was a park nearby.
