吉祥寺の喫茶店百名店に選定されている『COFFEE HALL くぐつ草』さんを訪問してみました。
お店は吉祥寺の商店街の中にあります。鉄のアーチの下に階段が。その地下にお店がありました。
洞窟のようなB1に続く階段を覗き込むと、すぐ下に並んでいる人の姿が見えます。やっぱり簡単には入れそうにありません。我慢して並びましょう。
店内の作りも凄い、地下に掘ったトンネルのようです。女性のお客さんでいっぱい。（お店は洞窟と表現していました）
昭和54年から続く老舗の喫茶店。外国人の姿もチラホラ。外人さんもよく調べてくるものですね！
『ケーキセット 1,300円』をいただきました。『レアチーズケーキとブレンドコーヒー』のセットです。
くぐつ草さんのブレンドコーヒーは「オールドコーヒー」を使用。「オールドコーヒー」とはよく実ったコーヒー豆を2年以上乾燥させて熟成させたものだそうです。それにより、青豆をすぐに焙煎したような酸味や荒味がないフレンチローストのじっくりした味わいを得られます。
そのオールドコーヒー豆をネルドリップ式で丁寧でたてられた手作りの味。コーヒーは「ストロング」と「ソフト」の2種類から選択。私はさっぱり味の「ソフト」にしました。
コーヒーはソフトを選んだのですが、結構濃厚なお味。ストロングと間違えたのかと思うほどです。しかしこの濃厚な味がレアチーズケーキと相性バッチリ。
こちらの「レアチーズケーキ」も名物の一品。細長い陶器の器にソフトなレアチーズケーキがびっしり入っています。程よい酸味で上品なお味。大切に少しずついただきました！
