JR中央線と京王井の頭線の吉祥寺駅から少し歩いた場所にある喫茶店なのですが、食べログの喫茶店百名店にも選ばれ、カレー激戦区である吉祥寺において、吉祥寺三大カレーと評される老舗のカレー人気店でもあるこちら、ようやく訪問出来ました。
平日の18時15分頃に到着です。なんと、先客はゼロでした。完全な穴場タイムなのでしょうか、いささか拍子抜けでした。
まあ、空いているなら混んでいるよりも良いので、いつも通りの1人で夕食を楽しむことにしました。
注文はもちろんカレーセットですね。ドリンクはホットの紅茶を選択。
サラダと薬味、粉チーズや塩などが先に提供されます。
サラダを食べながら待つと程なくしてカレー到着。
このカレーですが、実に素晴らしい味わいだと感じました。確かに年季の入ったビター感ある風味でしたが、カレーを愛する私も唸らせられる逸品。三大カレーといわれるお店の中では圧倒的に好みでした。チーズは粉チーズを加えてという形がなんとも喫茶店らしさを出していますね。
鶏肉、じゃがいもの旨みとスパイスのマッチングも見事だと思います。お店がガラガラだったのもただのラッキーだったとしか思えません。
平日の夜時間帯は穴場なのかも知れませんね。レトロ喫茶ですが、キャッシュレス完全対応もとても好感が持てます。またふらりと味わいに来させていただきたいです。
