創業 安政元年(1854年)浅草寺の別院に茶屋を開いたのが始まりという浅草梅園さん。
初代が考案した「元祖あわぜんざい」は好評を博し、東京名物となりました。
テイクアウトとしては、あんみつが人気ですが、個人的に気に入っているのが竹皮栗むし羊羹です。
梅園さんの栗むし羊羹は2種類あり、蒸し羊羹の上に栗がのった栗むし羊羹と
竹の皮に包まれて、表面だけじゃなく、羊羹自体にも栗が入った竹皮栗むし羊羹があります。
私が好きなのは、竹皮栗むし羊羹です。
竹の皮で包まれた羊羹は、ずっしり重く、特別感があります。
竹皮を開くとボリューム感のある栗むし羊羹が姿を現します。
羊羹自体は甘さ控えめの上品な甘さで、栗がたっぷり入っています。
値段は1個970円。あんみつのような華やかさはないけれど、どこか懐かしい美味しさです。
