It's apparently a 6-7 minute walk from Oyama Station on the Tobu Tojo Line, but I've never used it before. This restaurant located along Kawagoe Kaido is a modern Showa era Western Western Cuisine that is currently trending. However, it is larger than the so-called Western Cuisine restaurant in town. The store is a two-story retro Western-style building, and most of the first floor is a parking space. If this was the style when the company was founded in 1965, wouldn't it have been quite innovative at a time when not many people owned their own cars? When you enter the entrance, there is a space that looks like a hotel reception, where you inform them that you have a reservation. Climb the narrow stairs and you'll see another door. When you enter the store, you will be a little surprised at how spacious the space is. It's a mysterious store that looks like it's from the Showa era, with the table sets, the furniture, the atmosphere, the open kitchen, and even the hall staff. There were 5 of us on this day, so they prepared a spacious seat for us so we could sit comfortably. The customers range in age from local regulars to older groups and young families with children. Isn't this the perfect example of a store that fits into the city? The menu follows the example of a Western Cuisine restaurant: Omelette Rice, Neapolitan, curry, Hamburg, fried shrimp, and ginger grill. Desserts include parfaits, coffee jelly, and fresh fruit juices, so you won't be able to master them unless you visit several times. Well, what I ordered on this day was: ⚫︎Cabbage salad (mayonnaise) ¥400 ⚫︎Otani salad (Japanese flavor) ¥750 ⚫︎Potage (corn) ¥600 ⚫︎Braised young chicken in tomato sauce ¥1,800 Hamburg Steak (cheese) ¥1,450 ⚫︎ Grilled pork with salt ¥1,750 ⚫︎Rice ⚫︎Coffee jelly ⚫︎Raw fruit juice (strawberry) ¥840 First of all, the cabbage salad is not coleslaw, but just cabbage with mayonnaise. I think the potage would have been better with a cream soup that neutralized the corn flavor a little more. This is a delicious Hamburg with the texture of onions from Western Cuisine restaurant. The cheddar cheese is certainly thick and generous. My main dish was grilled pork with salt. The thick pork loin is tender and refreshing. However, the grilled pork served on an iron plate is a disappointing dish as the fat from the meat seeps out and is covered in fat. My favorite french fries were soaked in fat. I felt that the flavor had little impact overall. You could just adjust it yourself, but it still leaves something to be desired. The fresh juice for the dessert is made with plenty of real strawberries and tastes exactly like the fruit. There seems to be some luck involved, as the types seem to vary depending on what's in stock that day. Coffee jelly is so delicious that you can feel that it has not changed since the company was founded. Nowadays, the phrase ``tastes nostalgic'' has come to be used, but this was a rare Restaurants where the whole space felt nostalgic, without any logic.
