I visited the restaurant just after 11am on a weekday in December 2023. The Japanese-style meal Restaurants "Kagonoya Bunkyo Sengoku Branch" is located about a 3-4 minute walk from Sengoku Station. The large restaurant was about 20% full. I was guided to a spacious table and sat down alone. After looking at the menu for a while, I ordered the "Domestic Beef Clay Pot Sukiyaki and Large Oyster Fry Set Meal" for 2,640 yen. I waited about 10 minutes for the food to be served. The set meal included domestic beef clay pot Sukiyaki soaked in warishita sauce, large Oyster fries served with shredded cabbage and lemon, rice, miso soup, pickles, raw egg, tartar sauce, and dressing. I waited for Sukiyaki to cook and slowly simmer. I squeezed lemon on the fried Oyster first and tried them with the tartar sauce. The batter was a little hard, but Oyster were of a good size. I was happy with the rich tartar sauce that went well with the rice. Once Sukiyaki is nicely done, dip the beef and vegetables, which have been soaked in the sauce to a moderate degree, into the raw egg and enjoy. The sweetly seasoned beef goes well with rice. The combination of green onions, shimeji mushrooms, Chinese cabbage and beef is just right. The flavor of Sukiyaki makes it easy to eat with rice and is very satisfying. You can also sprinkle a light amount of Japanese pepper on top to give Sukiyaki sukiyaki a nice flavor. The Oyster radish has a nice presence. I enjoyed the set meal by eating the fried oysters and Sukiyaki in a good balance. The quality of the food was not particularly high, but it was a decent meal. Kagonoya is a luxurious Japanese-style meal Restaurants where you can relax and enjoy it. The prices are by no means cheap, but it is a good place to enjoy Japanese-style meal meal while enjoying conversation with friends.
