友人宅に訪れたときに、
「近所にお手頃な串カツ屋があるよ」とのことで、
平日の夜に3人で入店!
さすがに平日の真ん中ということもあって人はそこまで多くなかったが、友人曰く土日は大盛況だそうだ。
とりあえず、各々食べたい串を注文。
このお店は大阪の伝統を忠実に守っており、
『二度付け禁止』という言葉は色褪せて書いてあるものの存在感は抜群だった。
一つ勉強になったのが、串をどうしてもタレを浸けたい場合はお通しのキャベツでタレを掬ってかけることだ。
去年、大阪を訪れた時に食べた串カツの感動を思い出していたら、揚げたての串がご来訪。
きつね色の衣が見ただけでサクサク感を表現していて、タレに浸けると黒の光沢を放つ二面性を見せる。
一口食べると、お肉でも野菜でも衣に包まれた旨味が一気に口の中に広がるので、全員とも食べる手が止まらない状態が続いていた。(熱々なので猫舌の人は注意!)
東京に住んでいると頻繁に串カツを食すことはないが、東京にいながら大阪の味を手軽に食べられるお店だからこそ重宝されているのだろう。
