2019年7月のとある休日の13時過ぎに訪ねた。
巣鴨駅を出て徒歩2分ほど。ビルの地下にあるベトナム料理店「ハノイフォー」。
それほど広くない店内は9割方客で埋まっていた。
テーブル席に2人で座る。
ランチメニューから「蒸し鳥肉のにんにくご飯セット」¥750を注文。
10分ほど待って提供される。
蒸し鳥肉をタレに浸して、ライスと共に味わう。ベトナム料理らしい酸味と甘みと旨味たっぷりのタレがライスに良く合う。
プレートに乗った生野菜が良いヘルシーさを演出して更に良い塩梅。
小鉢に3品おかずが付いてくるのも嬉しいランチセット。
卓上の調味料を使ってアクセントを加えられるのもありがたい。にんにくや唐辛子を酢に付けたものが特に良い。鶏肉とライスににんにくの風味が酸味と共に乗って良い味わい。
最後にはミニサイズのチェーで〆られる見事な構成のベトナムランチであった。これで750円はかなりお得感がある。人気店である理由が良く分かる。
惜しいのは接客。ベトナム人の若い女性がホールの担当だが、捌き方や案内がスムーズで無くずっと店内で従業員と喋っている。プロの接客がホールを回すとより良い店になって快適に食べられるだろう。
