It is located right across the street from the south exit of Sugamo Station. There are 7 counter seats and 5 tables. The customers are mostly office workers on weekdays and locals on weekends. You can smoke after 1pm, so smokers can go after 1pm and have a smoke while eating a hearty meal. As for the lunch menu, pasta is cheaper, but Atashin-ya is a great place to eat all you can with rice, mentaiko, and takana, so I would overwhelmingly recommend B, pork ginger. Hakata Motsu-nabe (Offal hotpot) Yamaya, which is well known for its all-you-can-eat rice, mentaiko, and takana, is cheap at 1,300 yen, so it feels like a great deal. First, salad and soup are served. Next is the hearty pork ginger, which I recommend. The pork ginger is made of soft layers of pork belly, and is well-coated with shredded onions and a sweet and rich sauce with ginger. This pork ginger goes great with rice, and you'll find yourself eating more and more. At other restaurants, you'll run out of rice, but at Atashin-ya, you can have as much rice as you want, so you can munch without worrying, which is a nice feature. What's more, you can eat as much mentaiko and takana as you want, so you'll eat even more rice. It's true that the quality is inferior to Yamaya, but for the price of 900 yen, I think this is really amazing. What's even more surprising is that you can drink as much coffee as you want! By the way, rice, mentaiko, takana, and coffee are all self-service.
