When you leave the ticket gate at Akabane South Exit, go west and turn left, and you will see Hotel Akabane on your right. If you go a little further, you will see Daily Yamazaki on your left, so turn right and you will see [a:13132313, Sakadokoro Koumi] and [a:13064606, Izakaya (Japanese-style bar) Nishikai] on your left, and Takumi is the first one. The redevelopment of Akabane West Exit has been completed and the area has been developed, but this area on the south side has been left behind, and the contrast with the high-rise buildings near Yokado is an interesting sight. This is a sister store of [a:13029914, Takumi Romantei] on 1st Avenue, and it opened in 1999, so it has been exactly 16 years since it opened. I had a beer at Nishikai before going in. Be careful, you have to take your shoes off before entering the restaurant♫ There are a few counter seats at the entrance, which are spacious enough for two people to sit together, and if you lift up the seats, there is a large space underneath for storing your luggage, which is convenient. Across the aisle, there is a table that is one step up and has a sunken kotatsu style seating. Since I was alone, I sat at a seat in the corner of the counter. Before looking at the menu, I noticed the "Today's Sashimi" written on the "white board" at the top, which included raw Oyster (2 pieces ¥780 excluding tax), mizutako (¥680), kanpachi (¥680), mako flounder (¥780), wild yellowtail (¥680), sawara (¥680), and bluefin tuna (red meat ¥880, medium fatty tuna ¥1280)... but the main dish seemed to be kushikatsu. There were many other Izakaya (Japanese-style bar) menu items Other well. There was a wide selection of sake and shochu, and three types of bottled beer were also available. I ordered Sapporo Akaboshi (¥490). First, the appetizer was a small assortment of three dishes: peeled broad beans, fried and boiled spinach, and cold shredded daikon radish. All three dishes were carefully prepared and the price was not expensive at ¥300... The first dish was two raw Oyster, one from Nagasaki and one from Hokkaido Konbu Forest, the long and thin one on the left in the photo was from Hokkaido and the smaller one was from Nagasaki. Both were plump and delicious, but I preferred the Hokkaido one. I ate it with ponzu sauce and grated maple leaves. For the second dish, I ordered Spanish mackerel sashimi (¥680). I decided on this because there are not many places that serve Spanish mackerel sashimi. The Spanish mackerel that came out had half the skin seared, and the rest was left as is. The meat of this Spanish mackerel was perfectly aged and ready to eat, and it was very delicious. It was a fast Spanish mackerel, but it was really delicious. last order was at 23:30 and the restaurant closed at 24:00, so we didn't have much time, so we decided to have some Japanese sake. There are many on the menu, but it seems they also have a hidden sake. I somehow felt like I was getting to know the owner and him well, even though it was my first time, so I told him about the last train and asked if I could try ordering five scoops, and he agreed. I told him my preferences and he brought me "Kawatsuru" from Kagawa Prefecture and "Tatsusen" from Aizuwakamatsu. He accommodated my request for a heavy-bodied sake. The Kawatsuru sake was made from high-quality rice, with only 70% polishing, and it had a very strong aroma and was very satisfying to drink. Tatsusen has a sake meter value of +9, and this one was lighter in comparison. After tasting both, I chose "Tatsusen", which was 500 yen for 5 scoops (90 ml). For the last dish, I ordered salt-simmered wagyu tripe (580 yen). This was superb♪ It was a little fatty, but it was high-quality tripe, radish, carrots, and tofu, topped with green onions and needle peppers, and seasoned only with salt. The broth was rich and good. They also had the same beef tendon for 100 yen more, so I'd like to try that next time... Also, for the final meal, they had "midnight Ramen", which I thought would be delicious with the broth from earlier. It's less than a minute's walk from the south exit of Akabane Station, and the food is orthodox, so it's a recommended Izakaya (Japanese-style bar). Tabelog (as of November 30, 2015), but I think it deserves a higher rating. Next time, I'll take my time and visit when I have time. Then, I took the last Takasaki Line train at 23:56 from Akabane. It's convenient because it's only a minute to the ticket gate... Thank you for the meal♪
