荒川区の路地裏にある蕎麦屋『千秋庵』へ。
街全体の下町的な雰囲気から昭和が漂っておりますが、そのお手本のような店舗で迎えてくれます。蕎麦屋と紹介しましたが、今回の目的は実は蕎麦ではありません。蕎麦屋のご飯ものとしても定番の１つ、カツ丼を食べに来たのでございます。通常のカツ丼の用意もあるが、千秋庵ではイベリコ豚を使ったカツ丼が有名。老舗な雰囲気とのギャップも萌えます。笑
イベリコ豚かつ丼、1300円。
つい食い意地がはって卵を溶いてしまいましたが、、提供時には卵黄が中央に配置されて登場。中央が大きく膨らんでおり、ご飯もたっぷりでとんかつの厚みも予想させます。とんかつ自体は、イベルコ豚らしい野生味のある雰囲気で、むっちりした弾力のある食感と肉の脂の強さと甘さが際立ちます。さらに、そこにかなり甘めのカエシの味が浸透しているようなイメージ。ちなみに、縦にも横にもカットされており、これも食べやすさとともに卵やカエシとの絡みの良さにも繋がっている印象です。
下町で提供されるイベリコかつ丼は、かつもカエシも普通のかつ丼を超えた強力なかつ丼でございました。ご馳走様です。
